History

The Washington & Old Dominion Railroad came to this beautiful Northern Virginia community.  Our iconic and picturesque Classical Revival Ballroom was added at this time for cotillions, concerts and farm to table cuisine.  Fresh ingredients traveled to Washington and Alexandria during the week and on the weekends, well to do Washingtonians flocked out to Bluemont to enjoy the mountain air and the abundancy of breathtaking scenic views.

This tradition continues today as our guests lavish in the comfort of The Manor House, enjoying exceptional cuisine and service that is only found at Whitehall Estate.

“The outdoor space is what sold Whitehall for us – we had an outdoor cocktail hour with fire pits, outdoor games like cornhole, and passed hors-d’oeuvress and drinks but they have this old historic caboose where we shot a lot of our group pictures. The setting is bucolic and ideal- we loved being shaded by the giant hickory trees but having the freedom to take pictures by the horse fences and fields all while capturing the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background!”
